ABOUT JARLMOTO

Buy. Sell. Connect. Grow.

JarlMoto is being built as a digital meeting place for Kenya’s everyday economy — connecting people to products, businesses, services, opportunities and local transport.

What JM is building

JM is designed around useful everyday connections. A member can discover what is nearby, post something for sale, find work or services, message another member, build a business presence, and use local mobility services without needing separate JM accounts for each role.

Kazi ya Boda

Find a boda near you. Get a ride or send an errand. Kazi ya Boda is JM’s local motorcycle service. Instead of walking around looking for the next boda, a customer can use JM to discover riders who have marked themselves available in the area.

A customer can request a J Motorcycle for a passenger ride or ask a rider to collect and deliver a legitimate item such as shopping, food, a parcel or documents. During the current Connect-First approach, the request opens a JM conversation so the customer and rider can agree on pickup, destination or task, fare and contact details.

How Kazi ya Boda works →

Bringing order to the boda stage

Kenyan boda stages can have many riders waiting for the next customer. JM’s long-term direction is to complement those stages with a digital layer: riders can identify their service area or stage and customers can find available riders through JM.

As the network grows, JM intends to move from customer-selected nearby riders toward fair automated dispatch. Dispatch can consider availability, proximity, waiting time, recent job allocation, reliability and reputation so that work is distributed more fairly than simply allowing the nearest or fastest rider to take every request.

Rider identity and future verification

For the pilot, a J Motorcycle rider uses the same JM account and must complete key profile information, including a clear profile photo, Kenyan phone number and service area before becoming available. A completed rider profile is not the same as JM verification.

When JM moves to full dispatch, the plan is to introduce stronger identity, legally required rider and vehicle documentation, document-expiry controls, reputation, GPS-supported job tracking and appropriate payment/settlement controls. Only riders who satisfy the applicable verification requirements should be presented as verified.

Marketplace + mobility

Kazi ya Boda also supports JM’s wider marketplace vision. A buyer may discover something on JM, connect with the seller and eventually use J Motorcycle to collect it. The same local network can support rides, errands and marketplace pickup rather than operating as an isolated transport product.

Our operating principle

Money buys business capability and reach. Trust is earned.

JM intends to keep useful member connections accessible while building sustainable paid services for businesses, promotion, logistics and, later, properly integrated transaction services. Paying JM must never be a substitute for earning trust or completing required verification.
